  • Paneer tikka, India's beloved marinated and grilled cheese, is a vegetarian explosion of flavor. This recipe guides you through every step, from creating the fragrant marinade to achieving perfectly char-kissed paneer tikka. Get ready to impress your taste buds!

  • Ingredients:

250g paneer cubes




1 cup thick yogurt



1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste



1 tablespoon besan (gram flour)



1 tablespoon Kashmiri red chili powder



1 tablespoon garam masala



1 tablespoon chaat masala



1 tablespoon lemon juice



Salt to taste


2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • Marinade:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, besan, Kashmiri red chili powder, garam masala, chaat masala, lemon juice, salt, and vegetable oil.
  • Whisk the mixture until smooth.
  • Paneer Preparation:
  • Cut the paneer into bite-sized cubes.
  • Add the paneer cubes to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  • Allow it to marinate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for a more intense flavor.
  • Grilling:
  • Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  • Thread the marinated paneer cubes onto skewers.
  • Place the skewers on the grill or in the oven.
  • Grill each side for about 5-7 minutes or until the paneer is golden and has a smoky flavor.


  • Serving:
  • Remove the paneer tikka from the skewers.
  • Serve hot with mint chutney and lemon wedges.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
