How to Cook Bok Choy: A Simple and Delicious Recipe

Bok choy, a type of Chinese cabbage, is a wonderful ingredient that’s both versatile and nutritious. It’s rich in vitamins A, C, and K, and it’s a great addition to any meal. Here’s a simple and delicious recipe to help you cook bok choy at home.

Ingredients

2 heads of bok choy

2 tablespoons of olive oil

2 cloves of garlic, minced

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon of soy sauce

1 teaspoon of sesame oil

Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bok Choy First, you’ll need to clean the bok choy. Rinse it under cold water to remove any dirt or grit. Then, cut off the bottom part of the stem and separate the leaves. If the stems are very thick, you can cut them in half lengthwise.

Step 2: Sauté the Garlic Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic until it’s fragrant but be careful not to burn it.

Step 3: Cook the Bok Choy Add the bok choy to the pan. Stir it around so that it’s coated in the oil and garlic. Cook the bok choy for about 5 minutes, or until the stems are tender and the leaves are wilted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4: Add the Finishing Touches Drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil over the bok choy. Stir everything together so that the bok choy is evenly coated. Cook for another minute or so to let the bok choy absorb the flavors.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy Transfer the bok choy to a serving dish. If you like, you can sprinkle some sesame seeds on top for a bit of extra crunch. Serve the bok choy while it’s still warm.

And there you have it - a simple and delicious bok choy recipe that you can make at home. Enjoy your meal!
