Ingredients:

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips




Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes with an electric mixer on medium speed.
  • Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula until they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop dough balls onto your prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
